POPAYÁN DECAF - RELAX WITH A SMOOTH FLAVOUR

Fireheart’s Popayán Decaf Coffee might be sweet, mellow and smooth, but that doesn’t mean it’s not here to prove a point about decaffeinated coffee: that it can be just as flavourful and vibrant as regular coffee.

Sourced in the coffee belt of Colombia, our Popayán Decaf beans are organically grown and go through a chemical-free decaffeination process. The result? All of the goodness of world-class, fresh coffee beans, with none of the downsides of regular decaffeinated coffee.

Proudly grown in Colombia

Our Popayán Decaf Coffee hails all the way the Cauca region of Colombia. Lying along the plateau of the Andes mountains, these small, coffee producing farms are some of the best in the world. Officially declared a City of Gastronomy by UNESCO because of dedication to traditional cooking, coffee farmers of the region take similar pride in their coffee.

Thanks to a favourable coffee-growing climate, Colombia has ideal conditions for producing speciality coffee. Grown at an altitude of 1500-2070 meters above sea level on mountainous landscapes with minimal rainfall, these coffee crops receive optimal sunlight and shade to produce Arabica beans.

Each bag of Popayán Decaf is sustainably sourced and hand-picked to ensure that you enjoy premium decaffeinated coffee beans while farmers receive ample compensation for their work.

Characteristics of Popayán Decaf

Our Popayán Decaf beans are packed with flavour. The varietal blend is full bodied and smooth, with sweet taste notes of golden syrup, malt biscuit and dried apricot.

These sweet notes are attributed to a combination of low pH levels in the soil, a high altitude and generations of locals who have been lovingly cultivating coffee crops on small farms, hand selecting only the best fruits.

Serving suggestion

If you have your own grinder at home, purchase Popayán Decaf Coffee as a whole bean to ensure living coffee freshness. Once you’ve got your decaffeinated ground coffee (or if you’ve ordered pre-ground) choose:

  • Coarse - Ideal for cafetiere or French press aficionados. Leave your coffee grind to brew for about four minutes before plunging and resist the temptation to stir the coffee for best results!
  • Medium - Is there something more cathartic than drip-brewing your coffee with a V60? Not only does it yield a tasty cup of coffee but, for the 2-3 minutes it will take you to prepare it, you will look good doing it.
  • Fine - The coarseness of choice if you enjoy using an AeroPress, or an Espresso machine. Get that pure, almost undistilled, explosion of flavour with every cup.
